Statement

I am a member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, a descendant of the Santiam, Chinook, Molalla, and Takelma Peoples of Western Oregon, and a former Cultural Manager of the tribe who planned and designed the tribal museum.

A recognized researcher, scholar, educator, and writer of original histories of the peoples of Oregon and California, with an extensive record of collaborative projects with regional scholars, tribes, local governments, and communities for over 20 years.

Ethnohistorical Consultant & Educational Presenter, 2006-present, presentations on regional Native history and culture in the North West Coast. 200+ presentations, 2006-present, for Tribes, Universities, Government organizations, Historical societies, Private organizations.

Tribal Ethnohistory Research (ongoing): Northwest Coast, California, Oregon, ethnohistory of tribes.

Publishing: books and essays in the process- Tribal Stories of the Willamette Valley; Kalapuyans of Western Oregon (co-edited, OSU Press); Stories of Termination in Western Oregon (OSU Press); White Supremacy on the Southern Oregon Coast (OHQ 2019), and numerous historical articles, 390+ published on blog ndnhistoryresearch.com.
