Tribal Histories of the Willamette Valley
The book is published, and available in most large and independent bookstores. The publication date was November 14th, 2023 and it is available in paperback ($24.95) and Kindle ($8.99). Other book services have other types of ebooks available as well. We are working on arrangements for an audiobook.
Here is the history and present schedule of my presentations and Book sales into 2026.

I love the image Greg Robinson (Chinook) created, not specifically for the book, but clearly related to some content.
The book was selling in high numbers in 2023, and early 2024, did well into 2025, and regularly was at the top of the Amazon counts for Indigenous studies and Pacific Northwest histories categories. Ooligan has told me its their #1 selling book! No other book sites record the sales counts other than Amazon, so, sorry independent booksellers, but until there is an option to track sales through Independent stores this is all I have. That being said, I have heard from Third Street Books (McMinnville) and Tsunami Books (Eugene) regularly and they say the book is selling out continually. It has made the Powell’s Portland like a Pro list!
The Ooligan Press site is a good place to go to see the reviews and a summary of the book, and my bio. Ooligan press has been very helpful, and I had a full schedule of events in November 2023. We are currently in the 3rd printing of the book, it is available in the two modes (physical and ebook) in 316 libraries worldwide, according to Worldcat. One copy in Africa, one in Israel, one in Greece, and several in other European countries, Australia and Canada.

Teaching the book– Area professors are now offering the book as a class resource in whole or in part. I have so far gotten requests from Dr. Jennifer O’Neil (Grand Ronde Tribal Citizen) (University of Oregon, Indigenous Studies) and Dr. David Craig (Willamette, Biology) for sections of the books and book availability in Fall 2023 (Craig), and Winter & Spring 2024 (Craig and O’Neil). I plan to use the book in classes Fall 2024, and just used the book for the inaugural Kalapuya Studies course (Anth/ES 554/454) at OSU (Spring 2024). It will be a text for Oregon Native Peoples (ES 345) and Native American Science and Technology (ES 445) as well as sections for a new class in development Indigenous Anthropology (Anth 270).
